On 1 July 2008, we left the Sumitomo Metal Industries Group and joined the Ferrotec Corporation Group following a change in share ownership. Under our new company name of Ferrotec Ceramics Corporation, we will continue to grow our business and invest for the future.

We began our ceramics business under the name of Photon Ceramics Co.Ltd in July 1989, rebranding as Sumikin Photon Ceramics Co.Ltd in December 1989 when Sumitomo Metal Industries Ltd took a stake in our company, Since then, we have rebranded three times and carried on growing by developing and improving our product range and business environment.

In 2008, an unprecedented worldwide economic recession triggered by the US financial crisis had a huge impact on our company. We overcame this crisis by using our advanced high-quality materials and integrating our technologies to develop materials and manufacture high-performance products. Ferrotec Corporation's cost-competitive manufacturing facilities in China and worldwide sales network covering the US and other regions established the solid infrastructure to supply better products at lower cost.
